Bereavement Ministry: those struggling with the loss of a loved one invited to gather for peer-to-peer ministry support; call Parish Office or email altcathedral@diocesaj.org.

Funeral Dinner Team: assists in providing a meal for families following the Funeral Mass; hospitality and support are offered to the grieving family in the name of the Lord.

Confraternity of Christian Mothers: an educational, prayer, and social group of women who gathers regularly; sponsors annual collection for the needy in November; sends greeting cards to the sick and home bound; check bulletin for scheduled meetings.

Collection of Food for the Needy: non-perishable food items, paper products, and cleaning items collected weekly and distributed to those in need; bins located at three doors of Cathedral.

Lenten Fish Luncheons: Ash Wednesday and Fridays of Lent (Good Friday not included) Fish Luncheon served in Cathedral Hall from 11:A.M. until 1:00 P.M.; proceeds assist the poor.

Soup Sale: supports the needy, especially our partnered parish in Jamaica, Saint Margaret Mary; usually scheduled in fall.

Prayer Shawl Team: handmade shawls Parish sends to the sick and home bound for prayerful comfort and support; shawls blessed at communal Anointing of the Sick Mass in Easter Season.

Collections: twice a year for Saint Margaret Mary Parish in Jamaica; daily collection at Mass during Lent for the poor; annual Missionary Cooperative sponsored by the Diocese.

Sponsor Families in Need: parish project at Advent in conjunction with Catholic Charities and the Confirmation Formation Group; aiding identified families needing assistance at Christmas; purchase, wrap and distribute gifts.

Coat Collection: winter coats, in good condition, collected for the needy of the community during Advent Season.

Parish Mailings: labels, postage and enclosures in envelopes for regular parish mailings: November (Advent/Christmas); February (Lent/Easter); March (Annual Catholic Appeal); and July (Parish Festival)

Cathedral Parishioners are invited to participate in the numerous ministries of our faith community. By baptism we have been called to be stewards of God’s gifts to us.
